That's interesting you can download U-Tube into a blog like that. I tried to do one, but the code wouldn't pan out. Of course, now that Google owns U-tube I guess it has to work or else!

That's the drink they serve on the last train to Clarksville.

... and Jonestown.

with slightly different ingredients and for slightly different reasons.

Actually, almost no one drank the kool aid in Jonestown, they were mostly shot to death. The suicide theory was a sort of planned urban myth.

On a brighter note....

I remember the commercials that went something like "kool aid kool aid, tastes great, I just had some, can't wait"....no, no, not quite like that.

I was just perusing Wikipedia and learned that the poisoned Jonestown drink used Flavor-Aid rather than Kool-Aid. It was not clear from what I read what the ratio of poisonings to shootings was, but it was clear there was definitely both.

What a sad legacy. Luckily, there are Kool-Aid moms (not to be confused with milk-and-cookie moms or MILFs) who make all the kids in the neighborhood a home away from home.

That's bizarre. I just watched a special on Jonestown a couple of weeks ago, and it was definitely Kool-Aid they were talking about. There was even a photograph showing a case of Kool-Aid (not Flavor-Aide) in a Jonestown storage room. I wonder why the discrepancy?

I did a bit of research, and you are right: Flavor-Aide was used, not Kool-Aid. Strange, I could have SWORN that the picture of a box in storage in Jonestown was Kool-Aid. I wonder if I can find that show again - since I watched it only because it was what was on while I was making Spanish Rice, I don't even remember the channel!

Anyway, I'm just glad it wasn't Mt. Dew. Mmmm, glorious Dew.
