Talk Like A Pirate Day!

Ahoy Mateys! Don't be about fergettin' our famous day, now will ye? Grab some grog, blow it out yer hornpipe, and teach yer fellow land-lubbers what bein' a Pirate is all about! As for me, I'll be keepin' busy in the Cap'n's quaters, where I can tell my best meate, "Come show me how ye bury yer treasure, lad! Shiver me timbers!"

Sorry. A substantial percentage of modern pirates appear to be Indonesian or Chinese, and I don't speak Indonesian or Chinese.

The afore mentioned pirates are also none too humorous, either (did you forget the Philipino pirates on purpose? or is it because of your obvious hatred of all things Philipino?). Plus they don't have ties to FSM apparently, which means all those South Sea Pirates need to WALK THE PLANK! Har, Har Har!

Well, perhaps in 300 years, there'll be a "Talk like a South-East Asian pirate" day. I'm already boning up on my Malaysian slang.

We need to identfy some Asian Pirate stereotypes stat! Perhaps black kerchiefs, AK-47's and a emaciated fruitbat on the shoulder?

ibjkngps-I bet Jesus knows no gross pregnant sluts.

Gee, and I thought the biggest pirates today were defense contractors and oil company executives.

Bring me that horizon...and some really bad eggs...

BTW, I read that Johnny Depp modelled Jack Sparrow after Keith Richards. Does that mean that talking like a Rolling Stone counts?

Arrr me bucko, Rolling Stones sing a good shanty, like that song about making a sailor walk the plank - Jumpin' Jack Splash - or the Jack Tar who got away from the Cap'n - Off the Hook. Arr or the one about taking a new ship and making her over - Paint It, Black. Sink me! I'm "Out Of Time" me hearties. I'll weigh anchor and go splice the mainbrace.
