Pictures on Demand

At the request of at least two people, here are a few pics from the fort and patio project

This is the current state of the structure. I need to buy a couple things to get the roof supports on. I still have lots of 2x6s so guess what the siding is going to be? My hammering hand hovers near hamburgeration.

Here are the lovely and stupid 4x4s planted into the deck slabs. Whose bright idea was that? (The cat is Jeebus.)

Does anybody need about 28 cinder blocks? Here they are. Time to learn about Craig's List I guess.

Stanley, rather than do all that hard work pounding nails through 2 by 6's, why don't we just take hand saws and cut them in half to 1 by 6 size? We could cover twice the area and not have to hammer so hard.

That's a good idea, Ollie!

Cool hut so far! If its of any help, I recommend the Home Depot book "1-2-3 Outdoor Projects". Lots of good info in there that may assist you in your design. Of course, you can thumb through it at the store to see if it fits the bill.

Looking forward to seeing/hearing more about your project!

By the way, nice trees you got there! I wish we had something like that in our backyard.... All we got are these scrawny looking Ucalyptus (sp?) trees that fling broken branches at our house every time the Santa Ana winds kick up.

No, but I swear Jeebus is the Love Whore...

I've never seen a cat that enjoys pets & attention as much as he/she..

(we still haven't figured out WHAT Jeebus is, although whatever it may be, it's fixed)
