HP Lovecraft Film Festival is this Weekend

This is a reminder to all you people who like chaos, creepiness, the occult, and have an affinity towards 200 foot tall creatures with tentacles for a mouth to click the link above and attend the HP Lovecraft Film Festival (if you are near Portland, that is).

If you don't like that sort of thing...maybe you like Klingons or something.

I love those web pages where you can click the back button but somehow can never leave.........

The last wave is a cool and very twisted flick.
Im working at my other job this weekend but will look in to it. At least I will be wearing the right color. Enjoy if I cannot make it!

A hollow, gelatinous voice over the radio:

Did you read that news report?

You fool, Warren isn't dead!

??!? Not sure I understand the implication...

I have seen "The Last Wave" a few years earlier but never really considered it lovcraftian genre. Its a good movie. More to do with Aborignes using their old history knowledge to strike revenge against the white western society started by the POMIEs for smashing their culture and confiscating their lands. I liked the movie because I get to see my Aussie homeland and city on film as always all things Australian continue to intrigue me.

but back to the thyllu munchies *arrggrmmgrommmsllurrpacckkburpp*

Dew Kid:

Click on the link and read the news report. Actually, the name Warren (and a certain quote involving a gelatinous voice informing someone of said Warren's untimely demise) figures in a Lovecraft story.

Now get off your aft shaft and stick your nose in a book!

I DID click on the link, and explored a large portion of that site, including reading the abstracts for each of the short movies and features that will be playing. I didn't once see the name Warren.

Not that it isn't in there, mind, I must have just missed it. I even went back after reading your comment above to see if I missed a character named Warren, and never found anything.

Now get your damned nose out of that book, and TiVo already!

Warren is the name of one of the members of that rock band whose scheduled appearance was preempted by an unforeseen paranormal event (i.e. getting devoured by invisible demons in front of screaming bystanders).

All the members of that band are named after characters in Lovecraft stories.

Relatively Exact:

Q: Are we not men?

A: We are TiVo!!!!

(You saw that one coming a mile away, didn't you?)
